Sanchita Battacharya

Sanchita Bhattacharya (born 19 February 1992) is an Indian playback singer, composer and television personality. At the age of 14, this makes her the oldest winner in the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs history as well as the first female winner with public voting. She has recorded songs for films and albums in various Indian languages.A passionate learner always achieves great heights and so did she with her hard work. The Indian singer became the winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs at the age of 15. With 45 lakhs 23 thousand votes out of 1 crore 32 lakh votes, she became the first female winner by public’s decision. “I always wanted to become a playback singer” she was quoted saying after she was crowned as the winner. The joy which added to her achievement was that her crowning was done by the king of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan . Shah Rukh was amazed at her singing and applauded her talent by regarding her as ‘the future of India.’ Along with the trophy, Sanchita also won a scholarship worth rupees 15 lakhs from Kidzee and a chance to cut her album. The judge of the show Bappi Lahiri praised her for her versatility and that she could sing anything from a bhajan to an item number.
